Bishop Blanzie Williams, Jr.

 

The Reverend Dr. Blanzie Williams, Jr., was the fifth child born to the late Isa Mae Williams and the late Blanzie Williams, Sr. in Wake County, North Carolina. He attended Wake County Public Schools and graduated from W. G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He later attended Clark University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.  

 

Bishop Williams taught 4th grade in the Wake County Public School System for 14 years. He served as a mentor for the Wake County School Community Helping Hands Project which was a program designed to help underachieving black males. 

 

Bishop Williams has always had a love and a special zeal for teaching and sharing the Word of God. He officially answered his call into the Gospel ministry and was ordained in 1991 at Elevation Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. He served there by assisting the pastor, counseling parishioners, and teaching God’s word. First Missionary Baptist Church in Clayton, North Carolina, needed a shepherd and after much prayer, God placed him there to lead His people where he served as pastor for 9 years.  God richly blessed his ministry there.

 

Bishop Williams is a graduate of Faith Bible Institute, a three-year diploma program headquartered in Monroe, Louisiana.  He has earned a Doctorate of Theology degree from Bible Faith International Seminary located in Smithfield, North Carolina.  He is currently the Chancellor of the Garner Faith Bible International satellite site, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the seminary.  Pastor Williams is continuing further study at Andersonville Theological Seminary located in Camilla, Georgia.  

 

Bishop Williams founded Brighter Hope Christian Fellowship in 2005.  God has blessed this ministry tremendously under his leadership.  His teaching, preaching, and counseling ministry has been a blessing not only to the local body, but the community and the body of Christ.  He is also the dean of Hope Bible Institute, a certificate program where classes are held at Brighter Hope.  He was consecrated as Bishop, Sunday, April 23, 2017.

 

Pastor Williams is married to the former Sharon Perry and they have 3 children:  Brian, Ashley, and Ebony, a daughter-in-law, Felicia and four grandchildren: Quashawn, Kevin, Olivia, and Paityn.
