Mother's Day Challenge
The Global Pandemic we have been dealing with has impacted numerous special occasions and holidays, and the church has not been spared from these challenges.
These past few months have been a great challenge for everyone, but our hearts go out to Mothers as you have been thrust into roles you couldn't begin to anticipate!
Many of you have worked from home while balancing your busy schedules of being your teachers, janitors, and school cooks for your children. While your pay probably hasn't increased at all, you have taken on these new responsibilities because you love your children!
It probably would be a bit of a stretch to stand here and say that there has not been a time or two where your patience was “on edge” so to speak. Perhaps you didn't remember Math being so difficult! Maybe you didn't remember the difference between a noun and a verb, so you had to google it to be sure!
You've heard your share of words like “pandemic,” “social distancing,” “coronavirus,” and “quarantine,” and like me, you wish it would all just get resolved quickly!
Well, let me remind you that God sees and understands all the challenges you have faced, and He is available to walk with you.
I encourage you somehow to make sure to take some time for yourself to get alone with God at least for a few moments each day for encouragement and renewal. While that may seem impossible, it is essential to allow the Holy Spirit to keep you sharp spiritually as you navigate these times.
Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I encourage you to do your best to focus on the greatness, power, and majesty of Jesus Christ! Sometimes, even that's a challenge while bringing up children, but it CAN be done!
Moms, while we may have many concerns in life, I believe our most significant concern for our children should be that they grow to love God above all else! When that happens, there is respect and love for others, and we sure can use that right now!
The love of a Godly Mother continues on and on even despite feeling quite inadequate from time to time. When there is love to be given, she doesn't hesitate and is willing to do whatever it takes to help her family not just survive, but thrive!
